Goldun Quarter Horses We have a 30 yr history of breeding Poco Bueno, Foundation Quarter Horses, Our breeding program began when we wanted good horses to ride and pack, into the Rocky Mountains. Since we had room for only a few mares, we decided to concentrate on a bloodline which we felt could produce calm dispositions, and carry Dun Factor. Through selective breeding and mare purchases, we were successful in gaining a few mares with up to 46% genetic concentration of Poco Bueno blood. For over 20 years, we used our line bred foals to vacation with our sons, on horseback in various wilderness areas of Colorado. For 28 years we packed in at least one hunting camp per fall of each year. In 1994 we purchased Jaz Poco Goldun Blue from the Jaz Ranch as a weanling, and were able to add the gorgeous Silver Grullo color to our herd. Blue attained his ROM in Both AQHA and IBHA Performance (Reining), has won Reined Cow Horse events, and NRHA money. He has produced an AQHA Reining winner in Mexico, an IBHA Reserve World Reining Champion, and a Gateway to the World Reining Champion. All of Blues AQHA foals are eligible for National Foundation Quarter Horse Association Certification. Blue is also enrolled in AQHA Incentive Fund, and RMRHA Stallion Stakes, giving his foals full eligibility. Equally as important to us, is his ability to produce the kind of temperament, disposition, confirmation, and color that each of his nearly 200 foals to date, have shown to possess. Blue’s foals have been sold in Canada, Mexico, Germany, and Israel with the greatest number in being sold in the United States. Blue has been tested by UC Davis, and is the first Stallion to be tested by UC Davis as homozygous for DUN. UC Davis also certified Blue as HERDA N/N. In 2006, according to AQHA, he was the only stallion with his number of foals (157 at that time) registered as DUN. (And Grulla). Blue is Stout, and well muscled, very strong hip and a good front. He crosses well with all bloodlines and throws great headed foals. We have available, a few of his foals, all Duns and a few Grulla, call for pictures and more information. Blue’s 2009 Breeding Fee is $975.00 including Chute Fee. Shipped cooled semen available Please contact: Kathy Key (719) 544-2740 Key Stallion Station LLC, www.keystallionstation.com email:
